Vision
Igniting a community of lifelong learners by guiding and nurturing each whole child
Welcome to Countryside Montessori Charter School! Home of the Cougars!
Established in August 2002, we are the Tampa Bay area’s only public Montessori charter school. As part of Pasco County Schools, we currently serve around 350 students in grades 1 through 8. Deemed a High-Performing Charter School and rated as an “A” school for many years, Countryside Montessori instills in our students a lifelong love of learning through an enriched, hands-on Montessori curriculum and focus on the whole child.
Including the 2023-2024 school year, CMCS has consistently been an “A” rated school. We have earned this honor for the past 12 consecutive years.
Based on 2024 FAST scores, CMCS outscored the District and State in all areas tested.
According to US News & World Report, CMCS is ranked in the top 9% of Elementary Schools and top 9% of Middle Schools in the state of Florida. As a result, CMCS is designated as a Florida School of Excellence.
CMCS is awarded the status of “High Performing Charter School” by the Florida Department of Education.

I am so lucky to have found this school 8 years ago. My oldest graduated from their middle school program and my 2nd is now in the middle school. The teachers are amazing along with every member of the staff. I couldn't imagine my kids going anywhere else.
- CORRIE WARD
The best learning environment because of the leadership and staff.

Many children become ill during the winter months.
A child who is sick needs rest, plenty of fluids, and “tender loving care.”
Consider a medical evaluation for:
*A child who has fever with a temperature greater than 100 degrees (orally), has been vomiting, or has diarrhea should stay home for 24 hours AFTER the symptoms are gone.
*Children of all ages need 8-10 hours of sleep at night and good nutrition including adequate fluids (milk, juice, water).
