Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Schedule: 10-month position (August to May)

Pay: Starting at $35/hour – This is a contract position. You will provide your own laptop. Some basic therapy and evaluation supplies will be provided.

Report To: Administration

 

Job Description: 

  • Schedule and provide speech-language screenings (including vision and hearing screenings), evaluations, Exceptional Student Education staffings, and therapy sessions.
  • Oversee and coordinate ESE speech-language services, including the evaluation and staffing processes. Schedule and conduct all ESE meetings, including reevaluations and annual IEP meetings.
  • Provide speech interventions, as appropriate.

 

Required Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology with either state certification in Speech & Language or Florida Medical License to practice
  2. Warm and friendly personality
  3. Thorough knowledge of ESE practices and procedures
  4. Effective verbal and written communication skills
  5. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with parents, students, officials, department heads, other employees, and the general public.

Consider a medical evaluation for:

  • Fever that last 3 or more days
  • Drainage from the ear
  • Cough that continues for several days
  • Repeated episodes of diarrhea or vomiting
  • Rash
  • Itchy eyes with clear or cloudy drainage
  • Sore throat, with or without fever
  • “Cold” symptoms that last more than one week​

*A child who has fever with a temperature greater than 100 degrees (orally), has been vomiting, or has diarrhea should stay home for 24 hours AFTER the symptoms are gone.

*Children of all ages need 8-10 hours of sleep at night and good nutrition including adequate fluids (milk, juice, water).
