Bottoms can be purchased from any store (i.e., Walmart, Target, JC Penney, Beall’s, Land’s End)
No sports shorts, sweatpants, or windbreaker material.

Backpacks

Any backpacks that meet the following requirements:
• No Larger than 16.5H x 12.5W x 5D standard size (i.e., Jansport)

STUDENT DRESS CODE POLICY 2023-2024

All students who attend Countryside Montessori Charter School are expected to respect the school community by dressing appropriately for the educational environment. School attire should facilitate learning as well as the health and safety of students and adults that supervise them. This policy is intended to provide guidance for students, staff, and parents.

Minimum Requirements for All Grades

  • CMCS students must wear a uniform from Monday to Thursday (see information below). Students may opt to dress in their own clothing on Fridays for a donation. 
  • Clothing must cover areas from one armpit to the other armpit, down to approximately mid-thigh. Tops must have straps of at least 1” in width.
  • Tops must be long enough to clearly overlap the belt line or stay tucked in during the course of normal movement throughout the school day. 
  • Clothing must be free of rips or tears. 
  • No pajamas. 
  • Shoes must be worn at all times and safe for the school environment. 
  • Headgear including hats, hoodies, and caps are not allowed unless permitted for religious, medical, or other reasons permitted by school administration. Hoodies may not be worn on heads in the buildings. 
  • Specialized courses may require specialized attire, such as physical education. 
  • On dress down days, clothing may not depict, imply, advertise, or advocate illegal, violent, or lewd conduct, weapons, or the use of alcohol or drugs. Clothing may not display obscene or discriminatory language or images. 
  • Sunglasses may not be worn in the buildings. 
  • CMCS hoodies/sweatshirts are the only pullovers allowed on uniform days. Zip or button-up jackets are acceptable on uniform days. 
  • No wireless/Bluetooth earbuds, smart watches, Fitbit or exercise-tracking devices, or Apple watches. 
  • CMCS uniform polos/jumpers may only be purchased from CMCS-approved suppliers. The ONLY approved uniform providers for CMCS are Cheer It On Sports and Lands’ End.

Elementary Uniform Policy (Grades 1-5)

Elementary uniforms consist of a CMCS-embroidered polo shirt and uniform bottoms (e.g., shorts, skirt, dress, jumper, skort, etc.)

Polo Colors: Red, navy, & white (regular or dri-fit) 

Uniform Bottom Colors: Khaki & navy – No sports shorts, sweatpants, or windbreaker material Field Trip Shirts: Red CMCS crew neck shirt 

Shoes: Any athletic-type, rubber soled shoes. No sandals allowed. Socks can be any color/design.

Undergarments (including undershirts & tights): Must be uniform colors (red, navy, & white)

Middle School Uniform Policy (Grades 6-8)

Middle School uniforms consist of a CMCS-embroidered polo shirt and uniform bottoms (shorts, skirt, dress, jumper, skort, etc.)

Polo Colors: Royal blue, black, & heather grey (regular or dri-fit) 

Uniform Bottom Colors: Khaki & navy – No sports shorts, sweatpants, or windbreaker material

Field Trip Shirts: Royal Blue CMCS crew neck shirt 

Shoes: Any athletic-type, rubber soled shoes. Sandals/Crocs with back straps are allowed when not in PE. Socks can be any color/design.

Undergarments (including undershirts & tights): Must be uniform colors (royal blue, black, & heather grey)

Uniform and Free Days

Consider a medical evaluation for:

  • Fever that last 3 or more days
  • Drainage from the ear
  • Cough that continues for several days
  • Repeated episodes of diarrhea or vomiting
  • Rash
  • Itchy eyes with clear or cloudy drainage
  • Sore throat, with or without fever
  • “Cold” symptoms that last more than one week​

*A child who has fever with a temperature greater than 100 degrees (orally), has been vomiting, or has diarrhea should stay home for 24 hours AFTER the symptoms are gone.

*Children of all ages need 8-10 hours of sleep at night and good nutrition including adequate fluids (milk, juice, water).
